A hero to one, a villain to another. Controversial icons of the world demand all the attention. Facing Democrazy is an urban game that lets you rank portraits of (in)famous people - many of whom belong in the grey area between good and evil. Diversity in opinions of the crowd will make the portraits grow, shrink and bounce around the screen.
Commissioned by Dropstuff, Facing Democrazy is a collaboration of Mieke Gerritzen and Zesbaans. It is presented during the 54th Venice Biennale on 3 screens dispersed in Venice (Italy), one in The Hague, one in Eindhoven and one in Utrecht (The Netherlands).
