Zesbaans, born between 1979 and 1982, are looking for the individual and social characteristics of their own generation. For this research they've created a virtual individual Sam. This character will develop during the next few years into a model of the internet generation.
The public will witness the first phase of Sam's life, during the exhibition Herrie in de Tent at gallery Kunstliefde (Nobelstraat 12a in Utrecht, Netherlands) from 6 January until 3 February 2008. During this phase, Sam will be receiving input through interactive installations. The visitor's input will influence Sam's future, when he develops character and taste.
Sam's virtual identity emerges on the internet through online profiles in the public databases of Last.fm, Flickr and Myspace. To the online passer-by, Sam is a real person.
